I am addicted to building solutions to problems. These days those solutions are usually built with Python. But I have never met a tool I didn't like, and when given the chance I will always choose open source. I have learned a lot of programming languages including Basic, C++, C#, PHP, Ruby, and others simply because they provided the best foundation to solve a particular problem, and contributed to open source projects. Personally, I think the best part of problem solving is it provides an endless opportunity to learn.
Lately I have been focused on Home Automation. I have wanted to automate my house for as long as I can remember. The explosion of options has really got me interested again and I have gone all in. Just ask my wife. I love Home Assistant. The purpose of reviving this blog was to share that adventure. If you want to know what I get paid to do, checkout my linkedin.
I love quoting movies with my beautiful wife, playing trains with my son, laughing at our crazy lolcats, hiking the rockies, defeating templars in Assassin’s Creed games, rooting for the Dallas Stars, woodworking, laughing more than any one should, reading everything from cereal boxes to 1000 page works of fiction, or singing along to Hamilton.
